Behind the Scenes of Advertising

How many billboards do you see as you drive down the highway. Or what about as you scroll endlessly through social media. The answer is a lot more than you can count. On average the human eye comes across four thousand to ten thousand ads per day. Now that is a lot of ads but that's how companies reach you best. This week's chapter was all about advertising and planning and how you can create a solid foundation for the social media marketing field.

First let's begin with how you go about creating a marketing plan and strategy. It all begins with the marketing strategy which focuses on how businesses can incorporate social media. The marketing plan is a document that lays out your companies' goals for your social media page and the actions that need to be taken to achieve those goals. There are ten steps that should be followed when it comes to a marketing strategy:

1. Identify what group of consumers you want to focus of and create personas

2. Conduct a Social Media Audit

3. Determine your goals, objectives and metrics

4. Determine what resources you will use and which roles and responsibilities each of your workers will have

5. Then come up with the type of tone you want to set

6. Decide which social media channels you would like to use

7. Start creating and optimize your social media networks

8. Come up with a distribution and content strategy

9. Establish a social media content calendar and determine when you liked to schedule posts to air

10. And lastly, keep track of your pages and continuously check and review them

Following with that you will also want to conduct what is known as a SWOT analysis. Which means identifying your, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Then you will want to focus on creating your SMART goals; specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time based. These two acronyms play a huge role when it comes creating a marketing strategy and will lay things out for you so you can better obtain your ongoing goals.

This week's chapter was very informational and laid out important details when it comes to both marketing planning and a marketing strategy. When it comes to advertising and social media marketing there are lots of parts that go into it in order to be successful. When using certain tools and resources it can help you tremendously so that you can obtain your goals and help grow your business.

The answer to that question is yes and as technology grows and social media platforms progress the more individuals are aware of the connection.      On a personal level I have first-hand come to realize how social media can affect one's mental health. I remember when I first got on social media, I was constantly comparing myself to other females on the platform and wished that I could look like how they did. I would constantly look at my phone to see if I had any notifications from someone trying to follow me or liking one of my posts. However, I made changes and over the years since then I have made sure to take time away from social media by completely deleting my accounts and refocusing in on me when I started to feel the negative impact again. Social media ...
