Business Marketing with Instagram

When it comes to social media marketing for a business Instagram is a great platform to create. Instagram is ranked number fourth when it comes to users on the platform and how much it is used each day. Over the years Instagram has grown to be a very popular social media platform. Between its stories, reels and now shopping available on the app it has grown with popularity.

Today on Instagram there are over two billion monthly users, over two hundred million active businesses, and over one hundred million photos are uploaded per day. When it comes to users both male and females use it and the age group that are mainly always active on the app are between eighteen and twenty - four. On the user front it has become popular to follow the brands you enjoy online. Most of the time the things you are interested in pop up on your feed as you are scrolling which is very beneficial for businesses. It allows for businesses to get more attention as users click on their links provided which takes them to their shop without having to leave Instagram.

For businesses it is very simple to create an account on Instagram. Just like the steps taken with creating a Facebook profile you will choose a name for your account typically your business title. Then you will next want to start filling out the biography section of either what your business is or a link to your website or other accounts. Next you will want to choose a profile picture that represents your business. Along with that there are different features and setting on Instagram when it comes to a businesses account which will be very beneficial.

Next when posting on Instagram there are various types of ways you can post; from adding to your story, creating a reel with your product or even a simple post. When you do make a post you will want your caption section to have a max of two thousand two hundred characters to help maximize the engagements on your post. Key tip, make sure to provide your most important message within the first few lines. Then you will want to add hashtags and brand mentions. You can use as many hashtags as you want on Instagram but it is best to use at least three. The captions can and should be a mix of information you are trying to get out but also incorporate emojis and punctuation. Try and be as creative as possible with your text and do not be afraid to use resources such as AI to help with the ideas you have. Another key factor when posting on your business account is to always create a call - to - action link. Call - to - action links are very important because when your customer sees something they link or are thinking of purchasing you want to allow them easy access to the product of where they can purchase it.

In conclusion, Instagram is a great platform to have to help market your business. The popularity of the app has grown substantially and will only grow from here. Use all the resources and tools provided by Instagram to your fullest and watch your business grow overtime.

Journey of Jaelynn

Today was the first day back at Ohio Northern University for spring semester. For me it will probably take me a few class days to get back in the swing of things as I took fall semester off and only had two online classes. However, I am very excited as I begin my time as a Marketing major. After I graduate from Ohio Northern I am hoping to put my Marketing degree in use in the Art field. Specifically in Art Galleries. Now personally I have no talent when it comes to drawing, painting, and generally all hands-on art that individuals can create. With that being said, even though I don't have that level of artistic ability I have always been drawn to it. To be able to look at certain pieces of art and try to find the true meaning behind each and every piece of artwork. When it comes to art, I love being able to hear how everyone's perspective on certain artworks. I find it beautiful how we all take in things differently and come up with differe...

Social Media's connection with Mental Health

Is there a connection between social media and mental health? The answer to that question is yes and as technology grows and social media platforms progress the more individuals are aware of the connection.      On a personal level I have first-hand come to realize how social media can affect one's mental health. I remember when I first got on social media, I was constantly comparing myself to other females on the platform and wished that I could look like how they did. Then I was fixated on how many likes I got on each of my posts. Social media was destroying my mental health and self-esteem day in and day out. I would constantly look at my phone to see if I had any notifications from someone trying to follow me or liking one of my posts. However, I made changes and over the years since then I have made sure to take time away from social media by completely deleting my accounts and refocusing in on me when I started to feel the negative impact again. Social media ...

The Social Dilemma

Let me introduce to you The Social Dilemma , a documentary that goes into the depths of the problems the world is facing with technology and social media. A compelling insight on the risks of addiction, mental health disorders when using social media.      Throughout the documentary it explores and dives into explaining how social media companies use algorithms in order to track their user's behavior and increase engagement. Former Facebook engineer Justin Rosenstein goes into depth how users are being sold to advertisers, and in a way, users are selling their attention away to them. Then Tristan Harris a former Google design ethicist goes in to explaining the addiction to social media platforms and the similarity it has between Vegas slot machines which are primarily designed to keep and maintain one's attention.      Another main topic that is focused on throughout the documentary is how misinformation has spread globally through thes...
