Creating a Business Facebook Page

This week's chapter topic was all about marketing with Facebook. It went over what strategies to use when creating a Facebook profile for your business and how you can gain an audience. Not only that but shared data on what gender and age groups use it the most and when are the best and worst times to make a post on the platform.

When in the process of creating a profile, you first will want to insert the name of your business and choose a profile picture that best represents the business you have. The picture can be your logo or what your business is. Example being if you run a bakery, you might set your profile picture to be the building of your business or a picture of some of the foods you offer. You will next want to create a call-to- action source on your page. A call-to-action button typically is a link inserted that once clicked on it will bring your customer to your website. Th next steps will be adding a description of what your business is and a way to also contact your business. Also incorporate your location and hours of operation. Lastly you will want to adjust your page settings and include any other services you would like to have on there. Then there you have it a Facebook page all set and ready to go for your business.

The next step is building up an audience on your page and reaching your specified customers. You will want to start off by inciting people you know to your page, this could be your friends, family, and investors. Following with that your will want to start creating post on your page. Each post should include a minimal of 140 characters or less, a photo or video selling your product or services, and include up to three hashtags. When thinking of ideas to post don't be scared to use resources like AI to help you go further with the ideas you have.  With your page you are going to want to create a content strategy; what voice do you want your page to have, how can you make your page authentic, and follow the rule of thirds. Now you will want to determine when the best times are to set your content to be published. For Facebook the best days to post are Monday through Thursdays and the worst day to publish are Sundays. Listed below are the best specific times to publish content:

- Monday's from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

- Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Creating a Facebook profile for your business comes with various steps to make sure you can succeed. Your success will take time and dedication, but it is possible for any business whether big or small to become successful on social media platforms. Throughout this blog I explained what steps need to be taken when setting up your page and ways to go about posting content.

Journey of Jaelynn

Today was the first day back at Ohio Northern University for spring semester. For me it will probably take me a few class days to get back in the swing of things as I took fall semester off and only had two online classes. However, I am very excited as I begin my time as a Marketing major. After I graduate from Ohio Northern I am hoping to put my Marketing degree in use in the Art field. Specifically in Art Galleries. Now personally I have no talent when it comes to drawing, painting, and generally all hands-on art that individuals can create. With that being said, even though I don't have that level of artistic ability I have always been drawn to it. To be able to look at certain pieces of art and try to find the true meaning behind each and every piece of artwork. When it comes to art, I love being able to hear how everyone's perspective on certain artworks. I find it beautiful how we all take in things differently and come up with differe...

Social Media's connection with Mental Health

Is there a connection between social media and mental health? The answer to that question is yes and as technology grows and social media platforms progress the more individuals are aware of the connection.      On a personal level I have first-hand come to realize how social media can affect one's mental health. I remember when I first got on social media, I was constantly comparing myself to other females on the platform and wished that I could look like how they did. Then I was fixated on how many likes I got on each of my posts. Social media was destroying my mental health and self-esteem day in and day out. I would constantly look at my phone to see if I had any notifications from someone trying to follow me or liking one of my posts. However, I made changes and over the years since then I have made sure to take time away from social media by completely deleting my accounts and refocusing in on me when I started to feel the negative impact again. Social media ...

The Social Dilemma

Let me introduce to you The Social Dilemma , a documentary that goes into the depths of the problems the world is facing with technology and social media. A compelling insight on the risks of addiction, mental health disorders when using social media.      Throughout the documentary it explores and dives into explaining how social media companies use algorithms in order to track their user's behavior and increase engagement. Former Facebook engineer Justin Rosenstein goes into depth how users are being sold to advertisers, and in a way, users are selling their attention away to them. Then Tristan Harris a former Google design ethicist goes in to explaining the addiction to social media platforms and the similarity it has between Vegas slot machines which are primarily designed to keep and maintain one's attention.      Another main topic that is focused on throughout the documentary is how misinformation has spread globally through thes...
