Marketing with Pinterest

Some of you may be wondering; who still uses Pinterest? The answer to that question is Pinterest has more than 465 million monthly users. Now, out of the 465 million users females make up 67% of that amount.
Following up with that lets discuss what truly drives individuals to use Pinterest. If you have never been on the app before the main components of it are pins, boards, browse tab, and watch tab. When you first download the app, it will ask standard questions and ask you to select your given interest so it can fit your feed to topics you would like to see. Then you have your main page which is filled with different pins (posts). When you like something you see if you hold down on the picture or video there will be a pin button which is your way of saving a specific pin and then you can either add it to a previous board or create a new board to add it too. Boards are a collection of different pins, but all align with the same topic. When creating boards all you must do is pin a post to it and give the board a title. Naming boards makes it easy for other individuals or you when going through your page so they can see all the different topics of boards that you may have and select the one that they are interested in.
On the other side of the topic, how can businesses use Pinterest to market their brand. When marketing a business on this platform you want use all the resources to your advantage. Of course, the first step you will want to do is set up a business account on the platform; include cover photo that represents your brand, name of your business, brief description, highlights, and community information. When making pins you too will want to add them to specific designated board to help your customers quickly and efficiently find what they are searching for. Note that the best times to pin on Pinterest are 2-4p.m. and 8p.m. - 1a.m. time wise, with Saturday's being the best day to pin. Along with that, find a way to allow your business to partake in trends going on; create different contests for customers to participate in, provide tutorials. There are various ways to market your business on Pinterest. From photos to videos mix it up and put your brand out there.
Pinterest can be a good way to grow attention to your business. There are millions of monthly users and so many ways to advertise; use it to your advantage.

Journey of Jaelynn

Today was the first day back at Ohio Northern University for spring semester. For me it will probably take me a few class days to get back in the swing of things as I took fall semester off and only had two online classes. However, I am very excited as I begin my time as a Marketing major. After I graduate from Ohio Northern I am hoping to put my Marketing degree in use in the Art field. Specifically in Art Galleries. Now personally I have no talent when it comes to drawing, painting, and generally all hands-on art that individuals can create. With that being said, even though I don't have that level of artistic ability I have always been drawn to it. To be able to look at certain pieces of art and try to find the true meaning behind each and every piece of artwork. When it comes to art, I love being able to hear how everyone's perspective on certain artworks. I find it beautiful how we all take in things differently and come up with differe...

Social Media's connection with Mental Health

Is there a connection between social media and mental health? The answer to that question is yes and as technology grows and social media platforms progress the more individuals are aware of the connection.      On a personal level I have first-hand come to realize how social media can affect one's mental health. I remember when I first got on social media, I was constantly comparing myself to other females on the platform and wished that I could look like how they did. Then I was fixated on how many likes I got on each of my posts. Social media was destroying my mental health and self-esteem day in and day out. I would constantly look at my phone to see if I had any notifications from someone trying to follow me or liking one of my posts. However, I made changes and over the years since then I have made sure to take time away from social media by completely deleting my accounts and refocusing in on me when I started to feel the negative impact again. Social media ...

The Social Dilemma

Let me introduce to you The Social Dilemma , a documentary that goes into the depths of the problems the world is facing with technology and social media. A compelling insight on the risks of addiction, mental health disorders when using social media.      Throughout the documentary it explores and dives into explaining how social media companies use algorithms in order to track their user's behavior and increase engagement. Former Facebook engineer Justin Rosenstein goes into depth how users are being sold to advertisers, and in a way, users are selling their attention away to them. Then Tristan Harris a former Google design ethicist goes in to explaining the addiction to social media platforms and the similarity it has between Vegas slot machines which are primarily designed to keep and maintain one's attention.      Another main topic that is focused on throughout the documentary is how misinformation has spread globally through thes...
