Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday is very important to my family and especially important to me. It marks the day Jesus Christ is resurrected from the dead. It shows his unwavering love us all and the sacrifice through this time. For me Easter Sunday is more than just seeing family and getting baskets full of essentials I need or candy that I truthfully do not need. It is a time to truly stand still and think about what all Jesus has done for me personally and everyone in the world.
To follow with that on Easter Sunday I started my day off by going to church and worshipping god. Then I continued my day by going home and helping my six-year-old sister search for all eighty eggs the easter bunny had placed all around our house. Then once we finally found all of them, we sat and opened our easter baskets which were filled with all sorts of goodies. As the day continued my dad, stepmom, little sister and I headed over to my great grandma's house to have lunch and allow my sister to do another easter egg hunt. Then I parted ways with my dad's side of the family and went over to my mom's and stepdads house to eat an early dinner. While at my mom's my brother had just got his driver's license a couple weeks back, so I had him drive us over to our grandparents to drop off jumper cables for them to have for their mower. It was for sure an emotional moment for me as being the oldest sibling watching them grow up and having to realize there not little anymore is a hard thing to wrap my head around.
Family means everything to me and taking times like these to be able to worship our savior and be able to spend time with one another is truly a blessing. As I have got older and have more and more responsibilities it is crucial that I make time out of my busy schedule to put my family first and spend as much time with them as I possibly can as I know my great grandparents and grandparents are not getting any younger. Throughout my college experience I have found it difficult to spend more time with family between school and work but despite it being hard I have managed to make it happen and crucially plan out times when I can visit with them and see them for certain events. Right now, is the time I am trying to soak up as much family time as possible as I graduate in December of 2026 which will be here before I know it. On the note career wise it has always been a dream and lifetime goal of mine to move out of Ohio which yes means I leave my family, but I know I can always come back and visit and thanks to technology I will be able to Facetime them wherever my journey takes me.
All in all, family is my greatest blessing, and they mean everything to me. Being able to take time to spend quality time with them and worship our lord is life's greatest blessing. With that being said Easter of 2025 was magnificent and truly blessed all around.

Journey of Jaelynn

Today was the first day back at Ohio Northern University for spring semester. For me it will probably take me a few class days to get back in the swing of things as I took fall semester off and only had two online classes. However, I am very excited as I begin my time as a Marketing major. After I graduate from Ohio Northern I am hoping to put my Marketing degree in use in the Art field. Specifically in Art Galleries. Now personally I have no talent when it comes to drawing, painting, and generally all hands-on art that individuals can create. With that being said, even though I don't have that level of artistic ability I have always been drawn to it. To be able to look at certain pieces of art and try to find the true meaning behind each and every piece of artwork. When it comes to art, I love being able to hear how everyone's perspective on certain artworks. I find it beautiful how we all take in things differently and come up with differe...

Social Media's connection with Mental Health

Is there a connection between social media and mental health? The answer to that question is yes and as technology grows and social media platforms progress the more individuals are aware of the connection.      On a personal level I have first-hand come to realize how social media can affect one's mental health. I remember when I first got on social media, I was constantly comparing myself to other females on the platform and wished that I could look like how they did. Then I was fixated on how many likes I got on each of my posts. Social media was destroying my mental health and self-esteem day in and day out. I would constantly look at my phone to see if I had any notifications from someone trying to follow me or liking one of my posts. However, I made changes and over the years since then I have made sure to take time away from social media by completely deleting my accounts and refocusing in on me when I started to feel the negative impact again. Social media ...

How do you spend you weekends? Well for me  this past weekend was packed full to say the least. Starting off the weekend with Friday I began with my classes; I had my Principles of Marketing at ten o'clock and then ended my class day with Geo Analytics at eleven o'clock. Following that I drove back home to Findlay which is only roughly a twenty-five minute drive taking a mix of back roads and the high way. I had a couple hours of downtime before I had to be at work at Texas Roadhouse. I was scheduled to work at six but if you know me you know I like to show up early for my shifts so I arrived to work about fifteen minutes early. Then after work one of my friends came into town so I spent time with him and we were able to catch up on life and everything. Immediately after spending time with him I went straight home and went to bed. Saturday then came way to soon and I was awaken bright and early by my baby sister who had asked me to make her ...
