How do you spend you weekends? Well for me this past weekend was packed full to say the least. Starting off the weekend with Friday I began with my classes; I had my Principles of Marketing at ten o'clock and then ended my class day with Geo Analytics at eleven o'clock. Following that I drove back home to Findlay which is only roughly a twenty-five minute drive taking a mix of back roads and the high way. I had a couple hours of downtime before I had to be at work at Texas Roadhouse. I was scheduled to work at six but if you know me you know I like to show up early for my shifts so I arrived to work about fifteen minutes early. Then after work one of my friends came into town so I spent time with him and we were able to catch up on life and everything. Immediately after spending time with him I went straight home and went to bed. Saturday then came way to soon and I was awaken bright and early by my baby sister who had asked me to make her pancakes in the morning the previous night which of course I told her I would. So I dragged myself out of bed and made her and the rest of my family pancakes. Following breakfast we all sat in the living room and watched Moana two which my dad downloaded on Plex. I thought the movie was absolutely amazing and I definitely enjoyed it even more than the first one. Then it was time for me and my step mom to sit down and as quickly as possible fill out Fasfa so we do not have to stress about doing it anymore. Not long after finishing that all up it was time for me to get ready and go to work at four. I was able to make decent money in just about five or so hours and went home and went to bed to wake up on Sunday morning to work a double. There is no doubt in my mind with school being back up in full gear that majority of my weekends will end up looking like this. However, I know that all my hard work will eventually pay off. I am just happy to be able to enjoy the time I get to spend with both family and friends and to be able to make the most out of the free time I have.

Journey of Jaelynn

Today was the first day back at Ohio Northern University for spring semester. For me it will probably take me a few class days to get back in the swing of things as I took fall semester off and only had two online classes. However, I am very excited as I begin my time as a Marketing major. After I graduate from Ohio Northern I am hoping to put my Marketing degree in use in the Art field. Specifically in Art Galleries. Now personally I have no talent when it comes to drawing, painting, and generally all hands-on art that individuals can create. With that being said, even though I don't have that level of artistic ability I have always been drawn to it. To be able to look at certain pieces of art and try to find the true meaning behind each and every piece of artwork. When it comes to art, I love being able to hear how everyone's perspective on certain artworks. I find it beautiful how we all take in things differently and come up with differe...

Social Media's connection with Mental Health

Is there a connection between social media and mental health? The answer to that question is yes and as technology grows and social media platforms progress the more individuals are aware of the connection.      On a personal level I have first-hand come to realize how social media can affect one's mental health. I remember when I first got on social media, I was constantly comparing myself to other females on the platform and wished that I could look like how they did. Then I was fixated on how many likes I got on each of my posts. Social media was destroying my mental health and self-esteem day in and day out. I would constantly look at my phone to see if I had any notifications from someone trying to follow me or liking one of my posts. However, I made changes and over the years since then I have made sure to take time away from social media by completely deleting my accounts and refocusing in on me when I started to feel the negative impact again. Social media ...
